Several ad publications are reporting that Opinionated Founder, Mark Fitzloff, has been fired following the acquisition of Opinionated to Tombras now renamed as Tombras West.
Mark Fitzloff is a legendary name having been largely responsible for making W+K Portland what it is today. He was raised to Global ECD and Partner at Wieden before being “involuntarily forced out” according to Mark himself on a podcast. No more info was given on the circumstances of that but given the report today some things might align.
Some sources close to the matter are saying the firing happened before the acquisition was finalized and directly following a HR complaint involving Mark and some “sexual misconduct”. Since these complaints are historically hard to prove, it could be assumed that the complaint had real indisputable evidence.
As a side note it should be known that Mark has since deleted his LinkedIn profile that showed him as “Founder of Opinionated” (although there is an old unused profile that still lists him as CD at Wieden).
